i have seen many posts on what happen it a fish becomes illegal in your state let say a Ray for exsample ..many people ask do i have to get rid of or kill my fish ..will they come break down my door and steal my fish .( so the game warden then can take them home and have fish you don't ) ..lol NO in almost every state out there you will be able to get a permit to keep such fish ...that you owned before the law was made... your always grandfathered in ...a permit would be needed ..and in many states the permit would be free

True in some cases. Untrue in others. Any species banned due to it's probable damage to native species and/or ecosystems are not grandfathered. Snakeheads and clarias cats are good examples. The law states that any in possession must be destroyed. There are no hobbyist permits to be filed for. Permits will only be considered for institutions performing viable and approved studies on such species.

yea, most people get grandfathered it. Reptile permits in DE are really stupid but even with the grandfather you can still get screwed. Get those rays and Ps and such while you can!

it really comes down to your state if you was to set a SN free in mass or even where i live in TN the fish would die states like this will let you keep what you have but if you set a SN free in south Fla there is a problem

Thats basically how our reptile ban is here. Not what is dangerous, but what can breed. Morons. You can have a Gila Monster but not a Ball Python.
