hi i have had fish for as long as i remember. I have recently got 2 small black convicts and 1 jack dempsey all around 1-2 inches and i was woundering, they all get along in 75 gallon. What behavior is it when the fish bite at the ground or rocks and curl sideways right after bite almost like bite then scratch themseves i dont know how else to describe it dont have working camera so? they bite at substrate and almost scratch themselves on one side on what they bite? water temp usualy 78 frequent water changes weekley:nilly:

Maybe ICH or some velvet disease. As these can be irretating to fish so they rub themselves on things. quote]

This is what I first thought. Raise the temp 2 degrees and see what effects it has on the fish.

oh okay i started to raise water temp. i do not see any white spots on them i have had fish with ich before but never the bite ground. I do water changes and they seem to eat and swim around alot just every now and then they do the bite the ground or other thing sideways should i start ich treatment or just go with water temp increase till i know for surtain?
are they in too small of tank or is there anything else you can think of i have had fish for around 3 weeks and they have done this ever since i got them?

my oscar will bit (attack) a large rock i have in his tank and my jack will sift the substrate and rub on it. i dont know why they have been doing this since i have owned them and i have never had a disease. i think they just like to make things to thier own likeing.
