Ok, so my jags are breeding AGAIN! It's like once every two weeks she lays eggs and turns my tank into a circus. This is my third batch of fry and I'm getting overwhelmed. They have claimed one side of my 150.
On the opposite side, I have another huge rock covered in eggs and three female salvini's hanging out hoovering over them and using their fins as fans on them.
The only problem is; I don't have a male salvini! What happened? I have a male jag who is mated with a female jag, a male pike, and a male festea. That is the only males in the tank. I can tell that the eggs are fertile though because only a very few are white and the eggs are developing little dark spots.
What is up with the salvinies? Also, is it usual for fish (besides convicts) to breed this much? Have my fish been watching news coverage of Nadya Suleman?
