I was thinking of starting a breading pair. I was wondering do stingray hunt at night like plecos looking for the eggs or will i have a chance of starting a breeding tank with a "tea cup"

Get some good books on rays and a big tank. Start out with 1 ray and get your husbandry down and then go from there. rays require alot of time, food and commitment. Study a bit and then decide to get one or not. Richard Ross puts out a good book called Freshwater Stingrays by Barrons. Check that one out.
Tea cup rays are small rays that people who have no clue what they are doing call them. They are most likely an obignyi, reticlata or something to that affect. I hope that helps.

Oh lol I wasn't talking about breeding rays I was talking about other fish and the relationship that breeding has to do with plecos, do the same princibles apply to ray.... i.e do rays actively search for nests? like plecos

rays are more active at night.... also go for a motoro ray not a teacup... motoro is a much hardier ray.... the ray can potentially stress the other fish and they may not breed....

If I understand the question is:

'Will rays hunt out and eat eggs laid by another fish?'

Answer: Yes 100%!! The rays will raid even a well defended clutch of eggs or get badly injured trying if the fish in question is too large and aggresive. I would say your chances of breeding an egg laying fish in a ray tank is extremely slim.
