What does that mean? I did a 25% water change today and the fish were doing fine. About 6 hours later my Acei is swimming frantically in the tank brushing up against objects. I tested the water and everything checks out fine. What could be the issue?

that is usually a symptom of ich, but many other things could be to blame, like flukes or problems with the water

What part of this does the PH play ? Im curious I thought the major factors were nitrate nitrite ammonia when it comes to ich

Most likely somthing to do with the new water, Ph or alkalinity, sudden change is causing some sort of irritation to their skin, which goes away pretty quick. is that the only time you notice this reaction?? Fish will occasionally do this for no obvious reason, they get little itchies just like we do, if you only notice it at water change, check the ph of the water going in v.s water in the tank before the change.
