Fish can grow 1" overnight??? Is this possible?

Hi my largest cuckoo catfish who is about 3 1/2"" now appears to have grown 3/4" overnight. I woke up in the morning and WOW! I mean he just doubled overnight! I couldn't believe my eyes! This fish only gets about 6" in captivity so its no rtc. Their synodontis which are generally slow growers. Apparently not!

Has anybody ever experienced this before?

My Ompoks are showing the same signs. Woke up one noting my 2.5" fish was around 3-3.5". Yet again that's after it loaded up on minnows but it's almost like watching them stretch between your eyes.
