Hey I have 2 Peacock Bass (about 10" and 8") a Frorida Gar and a Common Pleco in an 140gal aquarium. Ive had the Bass about 4 or 5 years now and recently the larger one hasn't been eating his pellets. Its like hes having trouble seeing them, he sometimes catches a glimpse of one and gulp at them but usually misses. Both Bass seem to have the slightest tinge of gray to their eyes but only the one is having trouble seeing. I had the water tested and everything seemed to test fine. I will get it tested again and post exact numbers. Any idea with whats going on in this tank?

What exactly are the water parameters? Please post the results. What test kit do you use? What is your tank maintenance?

I havent found the time to test water yet since the tank is at my parents place and I work away from home. I do 40-50% water changes every week but I dont clean the gravel too often(maybe once every 2 months). I will post water paramaters and type of test kit hopefully tomorrow.

Umm... 8-10" and you have had them for 4-5 years... I am thinking the size of tank is a fish tale... These fish are SEVERELY stunted.

They might be bigger im just estimating and they still seem to be still growing and dont seem crowded at all. Anyway I just got the water tested, unfortunatly its more of an indicator test kit so all I found out was they Nitrates, Nitrites and Ammonia were all 0 but it had very high phosphates. I was told vacuuming the gravel while changing water will help alot, do you guys agree?

lol I just looked at some older posts and realized I probably only had these bass for 2-3 years. Feels like way longer, maybe thats why you thought they shoulda been bigger.
