Well I bought myself a 100G tank Sat. filled it with gravel, water and some big rocks I had. I went out yesterday with my cast net and picked up a few fish; with the Texas Cichlid being my target spps. (they're all around where I live). Well, I caught 1 Texas, 1 Bluegill, 2 black tailed shiners and some type of darter (green throat I'm guessing). I also picked up a few aquatic plants and planted them in the aquarium. I've kept TX Cichlids before and the usually rule the tank. Thus far however, the bluegill is relentlessly chasing him all over the tank. They are both the same size (about 4 inches) but the cichlid thus far spends all of his time hiding in the weeds. I'm hoping once he gets used to his new tank, the tides will turn. I need some more holey rock for him (and the darter) to hide in; so thats in the plans for this weekend. That and hopefully a few Mexican Tetras. Anyone ever had a bluegill rule the roost over a TX cichlid?
