Hey all :)

Just wondering what kind of food routines/varieties you're feeding your fish at the moment (and who it's for!)
I'm thinking of implementing a schedule of starve-days, some days frozen, some flake etc so I'm curious as to what you guys do to keep your fish healthy and happy.

Swear by any particular foods for colour/health/vitality? Or is there a particular food your fish goes crazy for?

Thanks!

there are tons of threads about feeding and nutrition, and foods on this forum.... tons.... but I'll sum up my approach.

Variety is the spice of life.

I feed a wide variety of quality flakes/pellets, frozen, and live foods to my fish. and each Variety is tailored to each individual species as best as I can. I generally fast my fish on the weekends, and feed adult fish 1x a day or so. Young fish are fed anywhere from 3x a day to haveing live foods offered at all times. depending on the species.

Ah sorry, bit new to this forum (and the hobby) so I'm having some trouble navigating to find the info I was after lol. Thank you!

The goal of any diet is complete and balanced nutrition. With most foods a variety is the best method to achieve this, but there are some foods that are best fed exclusively. I have been feeding New Life Spectrum exclusively for years and I get much better results with this than any other diet I have ever tried. Think of it as the right variety of ingredients combined into one pellet.

Also depends on the fish what type of diet they will benefit from... like my fahaka gets a wide variety of foods from NLS pellets, to scallops, mussels, prawns etc...
