fish eating rocks

Did you see him eat them or are you assuming? He could just be constipated. Add some salt to the tank. You can try massaging his stomach around the anus but if he's bigger this could be an issue.. Good luck!
 
Sand normally is not an issue as it helps aid with the digestion by acting as a roughage for indigestible foods. Rocks on the other hand, are another issue. How can you be sure your fish is swallowing rocks? You cannot do anything about it if your fish swallowed rocks. Only way is wait for it to purge it out or perform surgery (which is inadvisable unless you know how to handle this).
 
well it was rocks and sand . i got him out the tank and felt his stomach and felt hard lumps . so i pushed a Lil on it and out popped 3 rocks and some sand that was stuck . that was 2 days ago and he seems to not be swollen now and doing good
 
Ouch. Watch him a little bit, if the rocks were rough it could have done some damage.
He sounds like he's doing fine though.
 
poor guy. id take the rocks out of the tank.
 
If your O is eating smaller rocks then I highly suggest you take them out.
