I have 3 Redbelly Pacu in a 1,000 Gallon outdoor Pond. One of them seems to have something wrong with it's eyes, it's eyes are cloudy & have a BROWNISH AND REDISH TINT TO THEM. I'm not to sure what it is...... He has trouble feeding, he can't see the food when it hits the water, he just comes up to the surface and starts to SKIM the surface to find the food, but when bumps into the food he eats it so I know he's feeding. But he can follow the other Redbelly Pacu's fine he swim along side them like normal. The problem Is about 1 to 3 days old AT TOPS.

He is 8inchs long, weighs about half a pound or a little bit more.
I took some pictures, Because I need advice on this ASAP, I need to know what i'm dealing with here.

As cloudy as his eyes are in the picture, thats exactly how cloudy they are right now at this very moment!!!!! & these pictures I TOOK MINTUES AGO!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I took the picture I HAD TO TAKE HIM OUT OF THE WATER TO SHOW ALL OF YOU, BUT HE WASN"T OUT OF WATER FOR MORE THAN 1 MINUTES & WHILE TAKING PICTURES I HAD WATER FLOWING ON HIM & HIS GILLS. So he WAS NOT HURT in the process of taking pictures!!!!!!

Its a pacu not a pirahna. Sounds like he is taking care of them.

What are the water parameter? High Ammnoia Etc? Are the other fish showing any signs as well?

Im no expert but thats the first place Id start. Was there run off from all of our rain we have gotten? Fertilizer? Pesticide?

Does miami sprayfor mosquitos by air?

Simple things to check for first to see if its a condition of the water...

Wut other tank mates?

The water is fine I do weekly water changes. AMMNOIA IS'NT HIGH. No the other fish are doing prefectly fine it's just this one.

There's no fertilizer or pesticide I can tell you that, none of that stuff I use or has been used in a long time like a year or something.

No they don't spary anymore, because it was killing the birds and other animals.

The water IS CRYSTAL CLEAR! Clear enough if I were to give you a glass of water you wouldn't know that it came from my pond that's how clear it is!!!!

And here are the Pond Mates:
REDBELLY PACU 3
COMMON PLECOS 2
FLORIDA GAR 1
TIGER SHOVEL NOSE CATFISH 1
AMORED CATFISH 1
TINFOIL BARB 1
RED OSCAR 1
TIGER OSCAR 1
RED DEVIL CICHLID 1
GREEN TERROR 1
JAGUAR CICHLID 1
TEXAS CICHLID 1
FOUR-LINED PIMODELLA CATFISH 1
SENEGAL BICHIR 1
RHINO PLECO 1

I think it's some type of disease or sickness.

A typical eye cloud has a white film on it. It can be caused by bad water conditions or other non water related issue.

If the other fish show no signs do you have a hospital pond that you can use to medicate the pacu if its really bad? rubbermaid stock tank or something of that nature?

You could you melafix and aquarium salt with frequent water changes. IN searching the sight that seems to have worked for most people.

I had something happen similar but not only the eyes the whole body. Water parameters were okay. I used the Melafix and aquarium salt and heat <was fall> in a smaller pond and it healed the Pacus and Oscar but lost my Giant Gourami.

I'll try the aquarium salt, i've had success usally useing that when I have problems and it works quite well from my expriences. Thanks for the help.
