There already a thread about a 14y/o want to start a fish store when he grows up.

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113670

I was thinking the same thing, but the place I am at (as I look around) there are a lot of competition, cheaper price and bigger store...

and I work hard and saved about $70,000, but I know that wont be enough to start a business around my area...

Will this work at all? Im thinking to start a fish farm in a remote area..

Investing my 70k in places like Kenya, Cambodia, and etc (third world country) and maybe hire a few people (cheap labor and cheap land) to start up.

Got the idea from MMORPG (massive multi online role playing game), people goes to China (cause of the cheap labor) or so and hire people to farm in game (virtual money) and then sold them to the world (specific people and specific games) and make money

but rather than farming money from an online game, I want to start a fish farm and produce fishes for consumption and possibly pets for neighboring country or worldwide and I know one thing for sure, its a lot cheaper than doing it in North America

Example:

There are a lot of potential in the car industry in China, and many companies want a piece of the pie. There this car (Geely) that were made by China, because of the cheap labor, the car goes for around $6k brand new. The car industry is one of the golden opportunity of third world country (cheap good items), but I dont have 70 million dollars to start up a car company. There must be other way that can use those labor and produce good that the world need and make a profit.

Then you might say, you will have competition like those arowana farm, exotic fish farm down at Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand etc etc.

So I dont know if this going to work out or not, any comments? ^^

Thats what Im planning to do, after I finish my civil engineering program. Maybe I should just save a bit more and buy a 2008 Nissan GTR instead :D, rather than throwing money into a bottomless pit.

you could always invest in a company that's already chugging along in the stock market and use that growth to start your own down the line.

i agree with the above, and also many people wouldn't buy from you for using cheap labor in other contries like wal-mart does, and they always have this kinda of stuff in the news.

Shipping cost will probably kill you since the price of gas is high and has the potential to go up. There is a thread abot a guy down in South or Central America doing what you are thinking about, but I think he spent about 4-6 times more than you have saved. It might be less of a hassle to buy the Nissan Skyline when they start brining them in, and then you can go show your tail lights to a bunch of Porsches and Muscle cars. :headbang2

Research how the governments of your prospective locals work with foreign investors. It's not the '60's any more, alot of 3rd worlds don't like little investors.
