Hi.

I've heard about FH being very aggy cichlids but how aggy they can get?. Do you guys think that a Jumbo Fh could beat the **** out of a fully developed Jaguar Cichlid?.

Im not pretending to toss my expensive and beautiful fish into a fight that's silly, thread's tiltle was just to get your attention..

However I'm courious about how aggy can a grown up FH get?.

I have this silk kamalau 8 inch male that is just mean as hell. He killed a 12 inch Male Midas, many convicts, 2 oscars, and 2 female ZZ's. It seems that for the first week he'll do fine and won't bother tank mates right away. But something always triggers his aggresion.
I have never owned a jag before, but I heard they can hold there own.

^^^^ Thanks for input mate. As a matter of fact I choose jag as a reference because that's a top predatory cichlid, jags are heavyweights of the cichlilds so to speak.

A buddy of mine keeps Red Bellies and I have seen 1 of his FH's(8"-9") take on 4 RB's(5"-6") and kill them within a day...but as far my FH's go they are not to aggy just territorial when they want to breed...but I think every fish has its own personality it really depends on the fish...but ive heard many stories about FH agrression so if you do try to intro those two let me kno how it goes lol...

My dad's FH can't stand to have another fish in the same tank and would attack the moment i put something in lol ...

i think it depends on whos tank they are in. But if its a neutral tank i would say the jag bcuz of their mouth size and larger teeth

a agressive flowerhorn will attack almost any fish no matter the size, altho i never had any problems with polys and Fh's.
