So last night I got my gar to try some tropical flakes, which wasn't meant for him it was meant for my gourami but he bullied the gourami a little bit to get some red ones lol. Any who I was wondering if anyone had observed this behavior or similar or is this a way of him telling me he's hungry for feeders?

The gar is probably so used to you feeding it that anything that hits the surface will be considered potential food, flakes included.
I'd not think much of it, nor would I continue giving it flakes, as it won't get anything out of them.

Yea I know I'm setting up a 10 gallon just to keep feeders in it (minnows and guppies), I'll give those guys the flakes to buff them up for my Florida and needle nose gars.
