:( Several , if not all of my fish are flashinh(rubbing there sides quickly on something). This is happening in multiple tanks. Ive checked water params, alls well. I see no signs of ich, temps are at 80. The only thing I never check is ph, its always been neutral from my well. 7.0 . all the fish doin this are otherwise acting fine, eating normally etc. Any ideas???

when ev er this happens to mine!(only once after a kuhli had rotted in my tank under a filter) so i treated it for fungus for a while and added slat and it went away!

hey, hey, hey its magic! you know! can you belive its not so its magic!

How about checking the pH? Just to make sure...a fall in pH can induce flashing.

think I will, thanks

most of my fish flash.....from time to time...........been doing it for several years with no problem.......... like a dog scratching.

however if it is new behavior just check it out and make sure the water is ok and its not getting worse or it is not a parasite or ????

Are they flashing after they eat? I've heard that if you overfeed (as I do occasionally--let's face it, wagging begging cichlids are fun to feed) the water quality can take a hit as the ammonia spikes. A symptom of ammonia toxicity in fish is flashing. Overfeeding would explain why all of your tanks were exhibiting this.

Just a thought.
