Anyone get their fish food from the local co-op? I was thinking about doing this, its a lot cheaper than store bought pellets. Last I checked, it wasnt messy and didnt cloud the water.

It's basically farm feed. A lot of the fish farms use similar foods. It's not great as far as quality.
The closest thing here are a few LFS that buy huge bulk amounts of brand name food and then bag it themselves and sell it, it's a bit cheaper and the quality is the same.
Im tryng to not buy salad shrimp so much, fish get bigger and eat more. Right now they eat Hikari floating pellets, its like $10 a bag for the large one. It lasts about a week and half. I was going thru a bag of shrimp every 2 days. Im going to take a look at the co-op and see what they got.
