Wardley Spirulina discs?
Has any one ever seen a fish go near these things?
I swear it's unedible to fish. Is it just this brand that sucks or should I try Hikari next?
My plecos swim right by these, I don't think they can even reconise them as food.
Then they just lay there to rot.
I bought these then I remembered that the last time I had some I ended up throwing them out too.

Tetra Jumbomin food sticks,
here's another one that fish don't seem to eat. I ended up asking the guy at the LFS and he laughed andd said that Bass seem to like them but not Cichlids.

I hate throwing money away.

come to think of it, i dont think none of my common pleco's ever ate them. maybe thats why i could never keep one alive more than a few months....no veggie in their diet

i do however remember my pacu, goldfish and snails eating them. then again, what wont those 3 species eat???

Over at pleco fanatics, the common consensus seems to think that wardley is better than hikari. Look at the inredients on hikari, the first is fish meal. On the wardley discs, the first 18 or so ingredients are actual plant matter.

I don't think either of them are that great, though. CHeck out the omega one veggie rounds, they rock.

Wardley is very low quality in my experience. I was feeding a common plec those algae discs and it wasn't growing. I switched to hikari when i ran out, and noticed growth within a week. Now i feel bad...

I have tried to use Hikari forever but all that ends up happening is I vacuum up the mess and the tank smells. I have had atleast 12 different species of pleco. And not one has ever touched these products .

i fed my plecos actual plant matter, didnt really do the algae discs

cassharper is right on about the Omega One disks. They are the only algae disks I use.

I get algea wafers at the garden center that they sell for koi and pond fish. Much cheaper cause you can buy them in bulk and the fish love them. I have no idea the brand.... All my fish eat them though including cichlids. If you have time try feeding steamed or parboiled zuchinni/squash slices to your algae eaters. I have kept them in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks after making them. Probably the cheapest route and the fish prefer it... Plus they are getting real plant matter.

I bought some HBH Algae disks and everybody goes nuts for them.
