I have a flowerhorn and she needs a better plant based food can anyone suggest something to me. I was used to feeding sumo red but am finding out its not the best for her.
Are hikari algae wafers ok?
Whats the best for a balanced diet in your opinion?
Thanks!

This is for my female flowerhorn . She is having what I think is small intestinal problems.
She eats, then after a few days of no pooping will be on her side at the top the aquarium.
I did a kanamycin regiment then fed medicated foods after. While she recovered, days later (today) she is floating on her side again - all the while I fed peas the moment I began to notice the stress...then I backed off the food until she recovered.
Im hoping for another full recovery but want to try and solve this problem of hers. I really don't want to lose her. She does not seem like she is suffering.

Im hoping to find a solution to this problem so she can recover from whatever is internally going on.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Hi. In not sure about the medical issues but for planet/algae food, I use New Life Spectrum Algaemax and Northfin Kelp wafers/Veggie (same formula but one is a wafer and other is pellets). Those are said to be high quality foods here.

For veggie I choose to go with NLS algaemax. There are really not many good veggie options really, northfin veggie pellets are mostly kelp and I prefer a good mix.

For meaty pellets, I do use northfin majorly.
