Fish for 55 ideas

I'm looking to get new stock for my 55 after selling all the fish that were in it.

I'm guessing with larger cichlids I will only be able to get 1 or 2 fish from a species.

I generally like CA/SA cichlids or hybrid fish like fh or bp. But I will gladly accept other types.

Really? 2 fh and a bp sounds like way to much for my 55. Even when young I could have some agression issues correct? And how big would you say they could get till they are all too big?

You could do 3 or 4 blood parrots and some silver dollars and a few tetras.

I wouldn't suggest getting anything that gets bigger then 8-10"

Because the 55g has a width of 13in.

I had a 55 stocked with a convict, a JD, a firemouth, a GT and a pleco. I had room for decor, hiding spaces and a pretty colorful active tank. The GT eventually was separated, and the pleco out grew the tank.

I also like breeding sorry I forgot to mention. Would there be any breeding pairs I could fit in a 55 maybe even 2?? Or since I enjoy the hybrids would I be able to to bp hybrids? Like get a female bp and a male of of CA SA or fh type?

You could get a convict and firemouth and breed those if your into hybrids.

FH need a 75. BP and a convict or firemouth would work too.
