im setting up a 30 high as a African cichlid. i just dont know how may i should put in it and what kinds i wanna put in it i was thinking about getting a Frontosa and buffalo in it...any suggestions?

Buffalo heads can be very aggressive toward their own kind and require strong laminar flow in order to thrive.

A group of peacocks or lethrinops would do well if you're looking to do Malawian fish.

For Tangs, a pair of comps and a pair of julidochromis would be nice or a pair of either of those two and a group of larger shellies.

For Vics, a group of 2M/6F of any of the common variates would work.

yeah im really not sure what i want to do yet...an are you saying that buffalo chiclids are only aggressive to other buffalo or all other african chiclids?

You could try keeping one in a community setup, but have heard that they're best in a species-only setup with lots of water movement and aeration.

ok cool, yeah i think im gonna go without the frontosa..what tank mates would work best with the buffalo head tho?

Buffalo heads.

are u saying that the only fish that can go with buffalo heads are buffalo head..how would that work in the wild? cause that makes no sense.

I n the wild, fish have more room than a few square feet to interact with each other and can get away if they choose. Does that make sense?
