So after picking up a hillstream catfish, I had to set up a 20 gallon tall with a bio wheel 330 and an aquaclear 70 powerhead (should be about 600-700 gph total) at room temp, which happens to be around 70*F. The substrate consists of sand and river rocks.

What are some smaller fish that would work in this type of setup?

I was looking at dwarf chain loaches, but I wasn't sure how they would do at 70*. Most of what I've read about them says they need a bit warmer water than that.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, make sure your water is well oxygenated as these fish come from super aerated streams and so need high levels of dissolved oxygen.
As for small tank mates, white clouds would be a great addition as they came from similar water and area.
Zebra danios could work as well.
Cherry barbs are not bad little guys.
