So, I bought a new 130 gal tank. Originally, I had planned to transfer a lot of my fish over to it. Instead, I'm thinking about cleaning house and going a different direction. I would like to put my Synspilum, a pair of Nics, and one more large fish in there preferably a Vieja or Paratheraps. I was thinking Zonatum. Do you think this would be ok? The Synspilum is a definite. I'm just unsure of the rest. Ideas are welcome. I would have loved to have added a Jag but I think it will cause trouble in the future.

130gal

1. Synspilum
2. Pair of Nics
3. ??? Zonatum ???

It could work IMO.

Give it a try. CAs are so unpredictable it is hard to say. I have a syn and nic in a 150g and I don't have any problems. I don't know how a breeding pair of nics will be though.

Well, I was hoping that the size difference between the nics and the others would stop them from causing too much of a ruckus. What about the Syn and the Zonatum though? That's the two I worry about not getting along. I've heard of both being quite aggressive but I've also heard of both being gentle giants.

I have read more about zonotus getting tougher, with age,but I never owned 1.if u like jag, maybe try a freddie or loseille? Small salvini could work, maybe carpintis
