Hey, I'm new here. I don't currently keep any monster fish or anything although I do keep various snakes and turtles so large predatory fish are right up my ally also.

For turtles I have two young Eastern Painted turtles(4" and 5" shell length), a young Common Snapping Turtle(5" shell length), and a very large age unknown female Red Ear Slider(10" shell length and weighs 6lbs). The painteda and slider are kept together even though the huge size differnce because the slider is extremely laid back, non-agressive, and not as competitive as the two painteds so she doesnt out compete them for food(if anything they eat all her food she I usually feed her by hand). The snapper is kept seperate obviously as other turtles are included as part of their natural diet!

I'm hoping to upgrade to a larger enclosure soon for my painteds and slider and would like to know if there are any particular fish that I could put with them. I'm hoping for somthing large and agressive enough not to be eaten by the turtles but not so agressive and large that they can hurt/swallow the smaller ones for now and need extremely massive tanks! Also I don't expect any fish to keep with the snapper because I feel no matter how larger and agressive it is I'll probably find it half eaten the next morning, although if anyones been sucessful keeping any type of fish with snappers I'd love to know.

I know most of the time fish and turtles aren't the best buddies but I have faith that you guys have enough experience and knowledge to tell me a few species that could work. Any species given it'd be helpful if you can tell me what size tank they'll need once fully mature so I can get an idea of what size I'd need plus the turtles.

We need tank sizes to give an accurate response.

Hello, welcome to MFK, I am a turtle expert, and I have a 125 gallon with turtles and fish, I'm just starting with fish, but i have done a lot of research on which fish can go with turtles, but before I tell you please tell us how big your tank is.

I'm hoping to upgrade them to either a 100 or 150gallon stock tank within the next month.(With above tank basking areas so there will be full room for swimming.)

In that size of tank, you are going to have a very hard time keeping the water clean.A fish that would be able to hang with the turtles, would be as big of a waste producer as the turtles are. Fish and turtles don't mix in a tank.
