So last week me and my bro ride around the country to find fish for his new 200 gallon tank. We spend $$$ on petrol and $$$ on [picture]* and a pike-like fish. My bro knows the names, but they where 60 euro's a piece. And today I finally got a response from a nearby fish farm.
They will sell me 4 inch brown trout for 1 euro a fish!
His tank will be a little crowded but I can't refuse this offer, its crazy!!

I'll post pics when I have them.

*Thanks Tay, I stole your picture:b

It looks like there isn't enough current in the tank; I'd get a power-head or something in there asap.

+1

Needs a way bigger tank also.

they look nice....hope you are running a cold tank. i doubt trout will feed for long at temps over 70 degrees F

imo bigger tank needed plus more flow - they seem to be breathing quite heavily

i think trout grow quite quickly so that tank will be too small in a matter of a couple of months......

Okay I didn't inform you about this, so nothing wrong with that.

This is a temporary tank, next to it is a 200 gallon tank. The water in this one is 16*C and there is no flow. Its just to have a look at them. They just came from a one hour ride so thats why they breath so fast. Luckily they all survived, but in the farm they would have been smoked and eaten.

We put them in there to have a look at them (at their condition) before we threw them in the 200 gal (68*F).

Its rainbow trout, and they are either for the restaurant or for the fishing pond. And even though normally trout would live in rivers or in the sea, they do survive in this pond. Water conditions in the 200 gal are way better. 900 gallon is filtered per hour. The water movement around the outflow is around 0.1 m/s and overall movement is 0.5 cm/s, which of course isn't much compared to a river, but is probably more than in the pond.

Nice, but ya, you do need a bigger tank ASAP with more oxygen. Try a pwer head.
