Hey i purchased 2 jaguar cichlids today Parachromis Managuensis and they are maybe an inch and a half long. They are currently in a 10 gallon tank and i will transfer them to larger tank once they get bigger. Im feeding them frozen dried brine shrimp from petsmart with very high protein %. Im just curious to know what their average growth rate is? Also if anyone has any tips they can provide me from hands on experience with this specific species i would preesh. Also here is the link to a video of the tank on 5/24/10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NXtQPsze50

They'll outgrow that 10 really fast...really soon.

Do a search and you'll get a ton of info on this site. Jags are really loved and talked about here, Also, do a search online for "cichlid companion real guapotes" that article will tell you everything you need to know and more. If you have a male and female, start saving for a 150 gallon tank.

yeah these guys are fast growers, i recently got 2 at that same size last week and it already looks like they have grown lol, i would suggest you get a divider as well. the two i have were in half of my 20g long (treating a midas for fungal stuff on other side and he would eat them) and one of them was continuously harassing the other, now that i have them separated from each other as well they are much happier and coming right up to me for food :)\

oh and as for food, get them a pellet like hikari gold to use as their staple diet and just use the brine shrimp as a supplement, but yeah the more often you feed them the faster they will grow (the more water changes you need to do as well) i would just feed pellet as a staple and then supplement with insects and raw shrimp 2-3x a week
