i have a question, my oscars keep getting scraps on their forehead to the point where it takes away the skin. Its because they freak out and run into the surrounding structure in the tank. How do i stop this??/
This is happening to my GT but its because my oscars are vicious and when I put the food in the GT flies to the top with the oscars and they bang their heads together and a few scales have already come off.
its been happening ever since the 55 gallon when it was just the baby oscars and sunfish. I think i figured it out tho, my mom calls them baby pirahna because of how fierce they are when it comes to feeding. At night i think they see stuff on the top of the tank lid and jump to try to get it and hit the top. Last night i heard it happen 3 times..
Ahh, if they are constantly hitting the top. Try putting in some floating plants, like duckweed or something, to discourage jumping. It worked for my jag.
