Fish I.D. Please

ok, well Im confused then. I am not new to keeping fish, I keep rays and aro's and stuff like that. But had a couple of local ladies ask me if I wanted some Covicts and Serveums. They were getting along in age and couldnt take care of them anymore... and needed to get rid of them. They had about 40 total ranging from babies to large adults. (dont worry, I have all babies and adults seperates in several tanks..)
So I told her I would take them in and find homes for them. So my wife went and picked them up.
Was getting ready to list on a local site and wanted to double check. But she told my wife the black and blueish striped were the convits.. so if the lighter ones are also a breed of convicts, what are serveums?? I am aware there are several different fish with the same names, just some color differences, but I am not undertanding why both ladies we picked all these fish from both said there were serveums in there...
