Fish I.D.

they're all over in the rivers where I go kayaking down the pine or rifle river


I always wondered about their true ID myself as always was tempted to bring some home for the fish tank.


my thought was a hornyhead chub as i've caught the bigger versions at 10'' long with a hook.

+1 on Erimyzon sp. Anal fin position too far back for any native cyprinid. Could also be lake chubsucker (E. sucetta); I can't count the scales well enough from this photo to be sure which it is. E. sucetta is widespread in the LP, E. oblongus is only in the southern counties.

I agree, definitely one of the Erimyzon sp.
 
I agree that it's a Creek Chubsucker.
