fish id confirmation please and sex if possible

i bought this fish about 3 week now it was about 1.5" mayb 2. it is now about 2.25 or so.

any idea the sex of the fish and there is a split in it tail well it heal?

Looks male, way to young BUT,,,you got to know what to look for.Right wher the tail meets the back dorsal it would be more humped up if female meaning she would be a more comact body shape ,yours is very small meaning it will have alonger profile. Plus spangles r a lil higher over gill which could go both way but high alreadymore will fill in there. But young way too. My ay of telling is blue on lips by 4 or 5 inches but im saying male .Post in 3 months
 
A split in the caudal heals, or not, depending on how far into the body the damage goes. And its a bit hard to tell by the photo. Below is an example of a split that will probably never heal on one of my Paratilapia. Because it seems, the actual fin ray had been removed (pulled out of the body) when the damage was done.
It could never be a "show" fish, of course, but does not diminish its viability in my eyes the way a genetic mutation does.
