While google searching for african cichlids my wife came across this fish and fell in love with the colors. The only problem is that after some researching I couldn't find another fish that was remotely close to the same coloration. Does anyone know what species this is so I can research if it will fit into my african set up?

Thank you

I'm by no means an African cichlid expert, but it looks like either an electric blue ahli or a blue peacock to me.

You are unlikely to find one that purple. They are usually blue.

Definitely a peacock. The lighting is giving it the purple color. If the front fins were red I would say aulonocara cobue. I cant see in the pic though.

Really hard to identify. So many look alike. Maybe an aulonocara cobue as stated above. Could also be a copadichromis azureus (location possibly mabenji).

Blue regal mbenji as joe jaskot said. Then some creative lighting!
