So as I normally do I went to our local gas station and picked up a dozen baitfish and found a large mouth bass fry and a mystery fish in the batch after getting home which is why I'm here lol.
And I apologise in advance for the low quality pics it's the best I could do with my trash cell phone, but I hope the pictures are still easily visible.

I'm gonna go look that up as idk what that is haha
Haha....I was thinking it could be a young pike but the snout looks different.

You are right it's a stickleback, the 3 spines are definitely on it's back.
It seems they grow to about 4 inches and only live for 3 yrs or so according to google lol.
I thought maybe it was a baby walleye or a Pike haha

Wow, that takes me back to my childhood. We had a lodge at the bottom of the meadow on our farm and it was full of sticklebacks, millions of them. During school holidays we'd have competitions who could catch the most. One point for a female but two points for a male with its bright red breast. Then a bloke went and put hundreds of perch and a few pike in and within a year the sticklebacks had all but gone. By that time though we'd moved onto catching the perch, which to this day is my favourite fish.

What a lovely story, I highly enjoyed reading it :). Until the part where someone put the perch in :/

That's pretty cool, we usually buy baitfish to feed our Oscar but every once in a while we come across fish that shouldn't be in there lol. So we've decided to keep the stickleback and the baby largemouth bass.
