I think he's (or she) is a Malawi. No idea on what the heck he (or she) is. Got him (or her) from a guy who wanted to toss him (or her) into the river.

I have seen them at 6 and 7, but at an lfs by my old house they had a few really old ones that were 9-10 easy... It was crazy. I have never seen some that big since or before that... I was so worried that my 120s were not enough space for them when I started out...
yeah, i saw some real big ones too, they were also fat around not just long bodied. When i was stocking my 72 bow i always tried to control myself and would think of those fish and how big they were as a way to stop buying more LOL
very hungary.... you actually rescued this fish...sunken belly poor thing..i hate LFS that does not feed thier fish..see them once in awhile ..who ever owned this one did not feed in many weeks.. you will have it looking good again in no time..just do not overfeed it... it needs time to get back into normal digestion etc..
Do not worry if all of the sunken beely does not go away. In some cases of extreme starvation, they will not fully recover for quite a while or sometimes not at all.
