Hi Guys,

I just got back from a holiday in the Seychelles, and while I was there I had the joy of doing a scuba dive on a reef. I saw so many amazing fish and even a huge turtle!
There were two very common fish I saw everywhere, one was a Sergeant Major and the other I would love to know! Here is a link to a picture I found.

Thanks!

theyre monodqactylus argenteus, also called monos or fingerfish. a school of big ones is beautiful.

yup, M. argentus.. they are usually kept in the trade as brackish fish, though they can tolerate full marine

yup. plain looking fish can look good too :)

monos are usually kept as a brackish species (as mentioned above). its best to keep them in shoals (6 or more), as they can be aggressive toward each other.

they should be in lowend brackish when young, but should be in highend brackish/marine as adults.

you may also wanna check out M. Sebae, also called moonfish, african moony, fingerfish. theyve got the same requirements as M. argentus, but are just deeper bodied
