Fish ID please.

I’m not sure what type of betta it is as it certainly does not look to be your pet store betta, betta splendens, could you get a better picture?
There are over 50 species of Betta's, if you got that at a LFS it could simply be a female Betta splendens, aquarium strain.
Most other species are special order from breeders, hardly ever big box stores.
I have only kept two, beside splendens.

and Betta edithae
