But being the true trimacs are fairly rare in the hobby now. you can bet your bottom dollar if you didn't buy it from a specialty importer or breeder that you have a very low grade flowerhorn. the visual distinction is impossible to tell many times between true trimacs and FH's. trimacs do grow more than 3 spots, and they ussally fade as the fish matures.
sometimes it is easy to tell that the fish is a Fh and not a trimac, but to tell if a fish is a trimac and not a low-grade Fh is next to impossible without dna testing.convict_breeder;1830552; said:a hybred mix b/w a trimax and a FH
