Hello folks,

I've got a little guy in my tank that I'm having some trouble ID'ing.

I caught him in a small creek just down from where I live. This was the first one I've caught that was small enough to coexist with his new neighbors. Like the others I've caught, he was an almost uniform slate gray color, but he has lightened up since being introduced to the tank.

Any ideas? Not a warmouth, not a green sunfish. Seems like those get thrown out there on these ID threads a lot. :)

Thanks...

yep its a spotted sunfish not much people kno about those buggers

He's a nice little guy, though he killed my channel catfish. I noticed him and the catfish were going at it one day, round and around, but by the time I could separate them the catfish was not doing too well at all, and he didn't make it. Doesn't bother my gar too much, though he occasionally will nip at his fins.

I'd never caught any of these before I fished in that particular creek, so I had no clue what he was. Any idea how big they get?
