I was at my local asian lfs last week and they had this large orange and black fish striped fish in there display tank. It had three or four orange and black vertical bars.
The thing that caught my eye was the body was in perfect symmetry. It was about 30 inches long, 18 inches high, and 18 inches wide. It was nice and wide and not long and slender.
The owner described it as a asian (forgot which country) tiger fish. He said they don't export them no longer and showed me 6 inch fish but with different bars. I first thought they were datnoids, but I'm not sure dats get that big?
I've google tiger fish and the only thing I found was african tiger fish, which it definetly wasn't. The best way to describe it, was like a giant domino damsel.
Any idea what fish this was?
