i got two of these out of a canal behind mines freind house i think there some kind of sunfish but im not sure the one in the photo will bury himself in the sand when scared its kinda funny

hmmm colors are all faded due to stress. Its hard to tell but if its native then most likely bluegill sunfish. But in florida there is a good chance that thats a Mayan Cichlid.

thanks i looked at both online and im thinking hes a mayan cichlid now, his colors faded a bit after i moved him from another tank i think hes trying to blend in with the different color sand cuz he been in the new tank for a few weeks and seems fine

That don't look like no sunfish, my money on some type of cichlid.
