Also what kind of water movement do they like ? I have a small movement fan on as well as the filter. Fairly high flow and they are staying away from it.

Strigata Pike Cichlid. Did you buy that at big al's whitby? They get huge, tough to wean off of live food, eat anything that will fit in it's mouth.

nope, London. Im glad they get big, will go into the 180 nice then. Guy said they are eating blood worms... Have some pellets hopefully they will take...

Right now they are maybe 4 inches 5 max...

Whitby had/has them in stock, a friend bought one. Pretty nasty fish overall. Like i said it will eat any fish in it's mouth. Enjoy the little(for now) guys. Good to see a fellow canuck!

sp. venezuela, not strigata

sp venezuela is an undescribed species. However if you look at the link they are referred to as Strigata sp. venezueala. Id love more info on these, since there is one in a friends tank as we speak. I'm new to pikes but those are labled at strigata in the store, and on articles i find they are too.

I will update on behavior... They only chill along the back together. First day in tank though so... Think ill keep it as just the two of them in there. They sound NASTY lol

Sorry, but the store is incorrect.

The bottom one s sp. 'atabapo I'....the ones you currently have are sp. 'venezuela'. Strigata is annoying hard to get, and generally has a humeral blotch behind the pectoral fin.

Sp. venezuela is also erroneously sold as strigata all too frequently, and is also one of the most widely collected and sold pikes in LFS.
