I know it is a bullhead ,but what kind?
It was about 7 inches long and in a 30 gallon tank on display at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco. The tank had no species id's because it was being updated.
I also couldn't find any staff to ask since it was so crowded lol.

I was hoping spotted, since they had asian arowanas also, fish aren't hard to get for them since they're one of the biggest natural history museums.
Thank you for the ID

Do the southern variants have an attitude that is just like the typical brown bullhead? Or are they more or less agressive?

I can't compare with the northern browns as I've only gotten my first two northerns a couple of months back at 2" and they are currently around 4". The southerns I've had all the way up to well over 1'. They never caused any problems for me. They are inquisitive, fearless, interactive, sweet overall.

Sounds like I've found a good catfish for the big tank in my future lol. Thanks again for the high quality information!
