Fish identification

Anybody know what I have here? I got it for $5, as an "adoption" from Petco. They didn't have a clue what it was. It is putting two same size (4") red terrors through the ringer. Would love to know it is.

It looks like a convict cihlid hybrid, from the angle of the picture, but I am certainly not fully sure yet
