I would like an opinion on this species. I saved a few of these guys from getting flushed. I was told they are protomelus fenestratus.( African) but...from what I see from my research they are the SA species of fenestratus. Please give me your opinions. I have them in a tank with some small peacocks because I went on what I was told. They are too small for my large SA tank anyway so they can stay put until they get of size. They are getting along fine anyway. Sorry for the glare and the nosey dragon blood

Agree with Rocksor, you will need to allow substantial growth before IDing is possible.

Have also kept V fenestrata (which is a good possibility)
None are from South America, all from Mexico(North America) or countries in Central America.
There are at least 8 species in the Vieja genus, that all look similar when young.
Pronounced Vee-A-ha, as in spanish for old women
