I did some store hopping today and picked up a few "contaminants" (For those who don't know what that means, they are fish that were brought in with other fish, by accident.)
Firstly, there is STILL my unidentified Leoprinus - Long, thin, gray on silver bands, yellow throat, 5 inches or so. Evidently still a baby.
Now - 2 new ones...
First is a characin - Giant Danio shape/look, but only 2 inches, with vertical black bars (incomplete, not top to bottom) Dorsal, Anal, and pelvic fins are yellow tinted and edged in gray. Lower half of the tail is gray. Dorsal fin is set way back closer to the tail. No adipose fin. Looks fully grown to me. Probably a Barilius sp. (ID species??)
Second - Now this is a wild looker. 2 1/2 inches - probably still a baby. Body is silver with a checkerboard pattern (black outlining the scales) - Looks like a super sized, elongate version of the Checkerboard Barb. Dorsal fin is tall, tinged red, with a black spot on tip. *extremely aggressive*
No pics - sorry! Thanks for the help
