hello i am a brand new member... and i need some help with my fish i recentely had a pond built in my garden with a water feature...
i built this as a needed space for all my fish i have an albino cat fish, tiger catfish, tiger oscar, aligator gar, hujeta gar and some koi's in the pond...
there is enough space for all of them... but since i moved them into the pond they have stopped eating... where as when they lived in the tank they had extremely good apetites... its been 6 days now and none of them have been eating i know this because i feed them live fish and all seem to be alive and well in the pond the koi's are eating fine as i feed them pellets... what can i do to help them eat? and one more thing in the tank they were all very placid fish and since i moved them into the tank have become very nervous... and scare very easily... please help... :nilly:

I think its too cold for them? koi are cold and some are warm water...warmer water fish sometimes stop eating when the waters too cold

His location shows Indonesia so I think low temperature isn't an issue. I forsee feeding problem for the Oscar though, its not exactly a fast fish so getting to pellets(with the Koi) or live food might be a problem in a pond(if its a big pond).

what is the temperature of the water and other water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?) is it cycled and filtered?

fish will stop eating if the water parameters are wrong but also just moving them from 1 tank to another or to a new environment can jig them out for a week or two and they'll resume eating when they feel like it! fish can go a long time without food so give them some more time, if the water parameters are correct

hello thank you for all the comments the water is filtered and cycled, its at a constant 28°C (82.4 °F) and the size is about 1.5 meter long by 1 meter wide and 400mm deep do you guys think its adequate? and the seasons here are simply hot or hot and rainy...

If you have a gator gar it will outgrow that in a year.

Tell me if u sell the gar! I have a 12'x12' pond waitin for him lol anyways
Some fish tend not to eat for a couple of days when introduced to a new envirment but with ur stock list I would be a little worried ,I would check your water params just to be safe.

And how does your koi live with your gar I was told they kill or mess with koi

hello so far all the fish have started eating normal... thank you for all of your help
the oscar though is just to slow like ''burntrubber'' said he no longer eats the live food he just eats pellets with koi's the gar gets along with all the fish no problems so far
the tiger catfish though i think will become a problem soon as he is growing rather
large and fast i just hope he doesn't eat the other fish...
