Hello i just recently caught a small wild fish from a non tropical river and was wondering what the best way is to integrate this fish into my warm cichlid tank?
I have the idea of ever so slowly heating up his tank by a few degrees a week till it is the same temp as the cichilds tank. Please let me know what you think.
-Thank you.

It's hard to say without knowing what the fish is. The temperature is only one issue and may not be the most important one.

Not all cold water fish will acclimate well to tropical temps. (I'd say most won't, but tbh, I don't know if that's true or not.) They may survive in warm water with poor health, color and behavior, or they may do ok.

If temp was the ONLY issue, a long quarantine while slowly raising temps is a start. Please note that some parasites (like ich) have long life cycles in cold water and you may be introducing them to your own fish unless you have a long quarantine. I'm talking weeks, not days.

Looks like a goby. Not sure where you found it, but it's normal range is up to 63 F, so yes, a cold water fish.

It does not get too large....perhaps 4-6", and any fish that tries to swallow it will suffer for it. It might work out, but I can't find much on it. Perhaps the cold water fishes forum will have lots of input!

It looks interesting, but its possible it will fare better in a species specific tank.
