Fish jobs San Diego?

Hi, I'm a college student pursuing geology in my 3rd year in San Diego, but I'm becoming interested in working with fish for a living perhaps. So I was thinking, should i get a diving certification and attempt to get a job at an aquarium locally.
If anybody knows of a good place to get a diving certified in san Diego or any opportunites maybe in the aquarium keeping business. I've had a hard time finding a job this past year to help going to school, as I'm sure many of you may have experienced at one point as well.

If you're looking for a diving cert, try sports chalet. A lot of them offer classes and that's how my bro got certified.

Haha well I checked their requirements for the masters program last year. I graduated in 2012 BSc bio. My GPA isn't high enough anyway... did apply at other schools though so there's that.

I would check out internships at public aquariums OP. Majority are unpaid but you get experience plus your foot in the door if it's something you plan on pursuing as a career. I did one last year.

For those in san Diego interested, there is a tropical fish distribution center in pacific beach with some job opportunities, I'm too far inland for it to make sense unfortunately. Place is called Baileys Tropical Fish. Best of luck to all in the job search

Does your school have any majors that deal with fish? Trot on over to their office and see if you can get an internship or even just a day behind the scenes somewhere locally.

you get a chance to dive in SD area, hit La jolla, great place to dive, least was 40 years ago,lol
