Last week my favorite bass from Snookn21 (guyana Occel) Jumped from the tanks while I was at work. My Daughter heard the flopping and called me asking what to do! She didn't want to touch it so she found a bucket, got him and dumped him back in the tank. He layed on the bottom not moving for while, when I got home he was swimming again. Has been a week and he hasn't eaten anything. He seems fine, back to flaring at his tankmates, but wont eat a thing.
He was out of the tank for at least 4 or five minutes, maybe more. I have a heavy lid on too. Here is a pic. He is about 12"

WOW!!!! hopefully he gets back on track pretty tramatic for him tho ...they can go a few weeks hopefully just still upset..

He is pretty good size so I think he will be ok. I would get him a 5 dollar koi at petsmart just to see if he will eat anything. And nice looking bass

Thats one stout cichla! Give him some time. How often do you change your water?

Thanks Guys!
He is in a 240G. I change 50% weekly. I rigged up a crude turnbuckle on the lid to keep em inside at least. Biggest bass in there is about 15" now. Man, bass are beasts with attitude as they get bigger. Used to be scared of me, now I think they want to eat me!

What is your stock in the 240g? Once weekly 50% wc's isnt that much if you have a big bio load. Maybe he wants cleaner water.

I have 3 bass ranging from 11 to 15 inches. 2 megladoris irwini cats about 12 inches and 2 4 inch silver dollers. Should I do more water changes??
