..-..
today i made a big mistake..!!
i was in good mood today and was doing silly things from morning..
i don't know what happen to me, i started to wave my hands towards my fish.
they got so scared that one of my female rainbow jumped out of my tank..
i panicked but my father took the fish and he put the fish back in tank!!..
she was not dead but she was gasping for air..and was swimming towards the surface :(..
she looks OK now, her color is coming up slowly..
but now she is not swimming with my other rainbow fish
what happen??..
is she still in shock?
and since this incident happen, whenever i go near the tank they hide in the corner..
they are not eating well..like they use to before

please help me out!!

She is probably just stressed from the experience as that is quite traumatic. I would just keep an eye one her, maybe turn the lights off and put an air pump in if needed. She is most likely fine. Best thing to do is keep an eye.

as far as the other fish sounds like you spooked um. How long has it been since this happened? They should return to normal with in a few days.

this happened today morning only!!..
now i am having another problem..
the fish who jumped out is fine but my one of my other rainbow fish is acting weird, she is swimming upside down.
i think its swim bladder issue!!..
i've checked my water parameters and they are all normal..
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - under 10..

i am not worried about my water quality coz i change 20% water every 2 days..
i am very much dedicated to my fish, feeling very sad..
today was really my bad day :(

thanks for the reply..
well i had another disaster today morning..
2 of my ghost shrimp died!!..
don't know what is happening to my tank..
one of shrimp was molded and he was faded white color and was dead!!..
and another was continuous struggling to stand on his feet but he was lying by his side and he was too became total white!!..
this is happening since i started to add liquid fertilizer from last 5 days, which i got from my local fish store..
is the liquid fert...is reason behind my disaster??..
well i will add stress coat if that helps my fish!!..

i am loosing faith in my care now..
i am thinking to get rid of my tank and abandoned from fish hobby ..i cannot see my fish die anymore :(..

Yeah maybe try again when you are a bit older.

Maybe do a very large water change, in case it was the fert...

Of course I won't say for sure it wasn't the ferts since we don't even know what type of liquid ferts the OP is using but I seriously doubt it. I was breeding ghost shrimp in a small planted tank for quite a while and religiously dosed with liquid ferts and ran a co2 injection setup and neither of them ever had any effect on the shrimp. I do know IME when they turn pale and die they usually had some sort of bacteria, or parasite. IME when you get these guys from a lfs if you see a pasty white colored ghost shrimp it will shortly die from some sort of ailment. Clear/transparent is the healthy color for these guys. Typically if they have a natural death they will turn red from the keratin in their blood seeping out into the rest of their body once they have died. If this doesn't happen, again IME with these guys, it's an unnatural death due to some sort of parasite or bacteria that could ahve very likely been passed onto your other stock in the tank.

In order to even attempt to diagnose the rest of your stock that is acting not like themselfs we would need quite a bit more detailed information that I'm not seeing on the thread, such as:

Tank size, complete stock list, diet, any changes to the tank recently.

It certainly sounds like it but how do you know OP is younger? I don't see his age anywhere in the thread. Does however sound like this might not be the hobby for you OP. Why someone would randomly flail there arms/hands at their fish in their tank is beyond me... Unless you are trying to stress/spook your fish I can't fathom how anyone can think they might get positive results from such action...

thanks for the reply!!

sorry that i didn't post my specs earlier..
my tank is of 22 Gallon long
stock List:
5 Ghost Shrimp
5 Neon Rainbow Fish
2 German Blue Ram
3 Platy

i didnt do any changes since 1 month..just started to add liquid fertz coz my plants were dieing..
its a local liquid fert, it doesnt have any label or something..
he said he is using the fertz from past 3 years and his plants are flourishing..
so i just purchased it for my self..

one of the ghost shrimp was completely white and he was molded when i move him out of tank when he was dead..
other one was also white but he had some red patches on his body and was lying by his side..

i didn't randomly flair my hands..i was just waving like saying "Hi"..but i know i made a big mistake ..
btw i am 22yo...
they are all pretty comfortable in my tank..
my Rams are taking food from my hand, sometimes if Rams are not near by my Rainbowfish too takes from my hand..

i feed them Tetra Bits, Flakes, Azoo Micro Pellets, Frozen Blood Worms, Today's Freez Dried Krills and sometime live bloodworms
