I work on a golf course in Florida, and last month we have been getting frost and a lot of fish have been dying, snook on the beach, but anyway the golf course I work at has all freshwater lakes.
There is a lake on hole 3 that is said to have a natural spring. Well 1 day after the start of the frost a snook about 40 inches shows up dead
. A true lunker, huge fatter than my thigh. So just when we all think maybe someone put it in or a fluke, 3 days pass I drive buy the lake and 2 more 30+ inch snook show up dead and a Tarpon about 4 feet. Amazing.
Now Im sure most of you have heard of snook and tarpon become "landlocked" I think is the phrase. There is a brackish water creek "curry creek" that has a little little creek thing that never has more that 5 inches of water draining into curry. But when hurricane Charlie hit curry creek went up overflowing into the fairways and maybe thats how they got in.
Now some may be wondering why I put this in the knifefish section. The best part on hole 4 a knifefish that measured 32 inches showed up dead.
