Fish less cycle

My buddy is telling me about a fish less cycle using ammonia. Does any have experience with it?

No because it's 1000 times easier and faster to just get some used media from someone whose tank is "cycled" to seed bacteria (or use a "cycled" sponge filter).

Yes but if you don't know anyone than it's perfectly fine if you don't want to worry about losing fish...

And if your buddy doesn't want to help you out you can use seachem stability. Here's a link with more info on it. Used it because I have no friends

Follow the directions on the bottle and shake it really good before use each time.

Thanks for the used media advice, I never really thought about using my other tanks media for cycling.

Yeah fishless cycling is the way to, whether its using old media or 'muck' from an established filter or adding a source of ammonia to the tank, there are many great articles online going into great detail
